  • 6 medium eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6 thick slices sourdough bread
  • 1-2 tablespoons oil for frying
  • 250g streaky bacon
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

    Season the eggs well with salt and pepper.

    Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture, flipping them over after 2 minutes.

    Heat the oil in the deep frying pan to a medium heat and cook the soaked bread on both sides until golden brown.

    Whilst cooking the bread place the bacon on a baking sheet and drizzle with the maple syrup. Place under the grill and cook until golden and sticky. Place the bacon on top of the French toast in the pan and serve.
