Chocolate & Orange Fondue

Serves 4

Cooking Time 20 minutes

  • 225g of plain chocolate
  • finely grated zest of 1 small orange
  • 175ml double cream
  • 15g unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cointreau

For dipping: fresh firm fruits such as:

  • figs
  • apricot halves
  • peach slices
  • strawberries
  • bananas
  • cherries

1. Break the chocolate into small pieces and place in the fondue pot with the orange zest, cream and butter.
2. Heat very gently on the hob, stirring continuously until all the ingredients are melted.
3. Remove from the heat
4. Beat in the Cointreau
5. Transfer the pot to the stand above the lit burner
6. Adjust the flame to its very lowest level to keep the chocolate smooth.
7. Stir occasionally during serving
